HIGH IN PROTEIN, NO PROCESSED STUFF!I've got the opportunity to bake for Heal Nutrition's First Birthday Party! So they sent me their newest whey protein flavour, COCONUT! The smell of the coconut once you opened the packaging was insane! It smells really fragrant, yet not artificial. The protein shake on its own with water is already good enough. I have tried other flavours of their whey protein before this and I absolutely love each and everyone of them, especially MATCHA LATTE. You know I'm a HUGE fan of matcha and the fact I couldn't taste the whey like the usual proteins I've had before, it's a big thing. On their Birthday Event, I had the chance to try Ministry Of Burn's newest Rowing class! It was so intense! My muscles are so sore the day after. Also died at jumping lunges after 15 minutes of the class. Anyhow, it was great to burn and sweat this much! So much good vibes during the day of the event and the instructor was super enthusiastic! Really loved the feeling of joining a fitness class again! It's been too long since I've had a class full of spirit! Let's not get carried away. Back to the blondies. These are not the best pictures, but I didn't had much time to take a photo of them properly before they were gone! I absolutely loved everyone's look after they had their first bite during the Birthday Bash! You only need a few ingredients, and they're all good stuff for your body, Oats Coconut Protein (From Heal Nutrition) Coconut Flakes Coconut Oil Coconut Sugar Oops, noticed how much things you can make from coconuts? They're just such an amazing gift from God! These Coconut Protein Chocolate Chip Blondies are super easy to make! Only takes you about 20 minutes! High in protein, no processed sugar, butter free, and all things GOOD. Trust me, you will want to BAKE THEM yourself! And maybe, finish the whole batch on your own. But okay, remember, eat intuitively alright, and also balance is the key! Or cut them into smaller pieces so you feel like you can have 4 of them at once? Let's just get to the recipe! “For last year's words belong to last year's language And next year's words await another voice. And to make an end is to make a beginning." ― T.S. Eliot Last year flew by in a blink of an eye, and now we're here, living in the year 2018. 2017 was the year I have grown so much in terms of self development, where I challenge myself out of my comfort zone, where I have learnt so much knowledge and experience. It was also the year that I spent more time for myself and my family. I've learnt so much about myself and discovered what are my strength and weakness. Of course, there are still so much room for improvement! I just want to share some things I have learnt from the past year, also a few favourite moments. Goodbye 2017. hello 2018.1. My first workshop, pop-ups, menu launch! I've been blending smoothies for about 3 years now. Thinking back, my smoothies use to be dull coloured, scattered toppings and practically just not artistic. Over the years I have developed an interest of making them daily, as it has became one of my staples for breakfast. I was never an art person, but making smoothie bowls has became a 'talent' for me and people started asking me how, and what should they be putting in their smoothies. My friend Charmaine (@kuihkapit) told me I should have a workshop, and she would support me in any way. And I DID IT. I sold out my first ever workshop with 60 attendees. Soon, another great friend Janell (@nellclimbs) who owns The KettleBowl, suggested that we could do a collaboration together for a pop up, we DID IT too, and we SOLD OUT. *cries tears of joy* And even sooner than I thought, the owner of Coffea Coffee's SS15 & Desa Sri Hartamas franchise approached me to have my smoothie bowls as their permanent side menu. It was quite a rush to launch it before Christmas, but we MADE IT HAPPENED. What are the odds, when you're sitting in a cafe, looking at your own creations being shared to everyone. This feeling, is like no other. 2. Represented my country for Cheerleading in Japan! With the experience of 9 years, making it the 10th this year in cheerleading, my dream was to represent my country. Even it was a small scale competition, I'm contented that I wore the Team Malaysia uniform to perform with it. It was quite a last minute decision to join the team, but I'm glad I did it. The best thing was going together with my boyfriend, on the same team. *so glad he likes cheer at last, I've been trying hard to drag him into the cheer world :p* Even better, we got Champions in our division, which was a dream come true. And JAPAN, you're such a beautiful country with so much yummy food! I wish to live there! 3. Started this blog & going to events! I started this blog back in May and it was a great transition for me, I started sharing recipes and soon getting invitations to Influencer Events and Brands Collaberations. I met so many local entrepreneurs and food bloggers, getting to know the faces behind the brand was even better than just using their products. This makes me support their brand even more after knowing these amazing friendly faces! 4. To be able to eat mindfully, without restrictions. THIS. IS. SO. IMPORTANT. TO. ME. full stop. If you read my About Me, I dealt with Bullimic Disorder for about 3 years. In short, a serious, potentially life-threatening eating disorder characterized by cycles of bingeing and compensatory behaviors such as self-induced vomiting to undo or compensate for the effects of binge eating. I use to stuff myself with carbs, eating a whole pack of chips and crackers, bought fast food just because I felt like bingeing and just throw up afterwards. It felt so good for a second but after that I feel shitty and guilty. In 2017, I have successfully 'heal' myself, by opening up my problems to others. This step has helped me tremendously with getting back to eating normally without bingeing. If you have been a long follower of mine on Instagram, you've probably read my problems I share and also noticed my diet changes recently. Lots of 'normal', 'not clean' food on my stories, but I am totally okay eating them. I'll probably share another blog post on how I helped myself out of my eating disorder. 5. Pounds will come and go, that number does not define who you are. I use to be so tied down about my weight and appearance, concerning whether I'm skinny enough, fit enough, do I own a 6 packs abs, or a perky butt. All these insecurities led to my eating disorder. Throughout the year I've learnt how to embrace who I am, accept how I look. Gaining a few kgs and a layer of fat doesn't make me a bad person, but being able to feel happy and not giving a f*** about my weight and what I eat makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER. The few kgs for happiness, why not? I never restrict my diet anymore, I never struggle to choose where to eat to get 'CLEAN FOOD', my bf doesn't have to worry about me not being able to eat things at the restaurant he chose to bring me to, because right now, I feel so okay to eat ayam goreng spicy Mcd and pizzas! As long as I eat them in moderation, and I'm glad I am able to control my portions for these food with my mind right now. 6. Surround yourself with people that help you THRIVE. 2017, the year I stepped out of my comfort zone, I started to share my stories on social medias, I went to community fitness classes/workshops, got to know lots of amazing new friends *including new virtual ig friends!* that have the same view as me. These people, are those who made me feel better about myself, no body shaming, just working hard to be better; no discourages, just positivity and encouragements; no sarcasms or bad jokes that makes us feel shitty af, just lots and lots of POSITIVITY surrounding me. Self love is the best love! Take care of your own feelings and surround yourself with people that supports you and inspire you to be a BETTER version of yourself! And because of these people, I made point No. 1 possible! 7. Integrity is everything. "No matter how educated, talented, rich or cool you believe you are, how you treat people ultimately tells all. Integrity is everything." I live by this quote, and truly believe in the how one treats people shows how the person is no matter what background they have. I met a lot of new individuals this year particularly in the business circle, Some are super kind, some are okay, some are just .. not as good to hang out with. This factor makes it easy for me to choose which party to work with. Just don't choose the bad one, obviously. Another thing is when you want somebody to complete a task for you, treat them good and be understanding, they will automatically feel better and work better/more efficiently for you. Which makes me realise that how I treat everyone I encounter is equally important, because I like it when people treat me nicely like a human, I have to do the same. There's a lot more that I've learnt, and I am still learning everyday. Every day I challenge myself to be better, and work hard for what I want to achieve. Here's to another great year, and I hope this will be the same for everyone!
HAPPY NEW YEAR, YOU ARE AMAZING, HAVE FAITH, AND BE KIND. <3 Have you tried a hearty, filling, |
